Most of us have to generate an income in order to survive, and this means we need to be in paid employment.

Education plays the biggest role in the opportunities that open up to use, with experience a close second.

Harris Interactive conducted an interesting survey which reveals just under half of all American workers are satisfied with their current job, although only 20 percent stated they felt passionate about what they do.

Older workers tend to be happier with their employment, while the younger generations feel frustrated and show little loyalty to their employers.

For motivated by monetary compensation 8 of the top 10 highest paying jobs in the US are in the medical fields, with surgeons earning a whopping $181, 850 a year.

Compare that with the average CEO earning a measly $140,880 and medical school suddenly seems a lot more attractive.
